Lawyer, a Navy surgeon's mate at Pensacola, Florida.  See scan of typewritten transcript - an amazing letter, writes of their voyage in Mexican waters, defense of Mexican towns like Tampico, lots of details, number of men, says the whole squadron is in Pensacola, gives names of ships, talks of a court marital and more.  Lots to read!.   Letter sent to his father Thomas Lawyer, the postmaster of Lawyersville in Schoharie County, New York.
