    Postal History / Letter
    Stampless folded letter written Setpember 18, 1839  by A.F. Lawyer, a Navy surgeon's mate - aboard the U.S. Ship Warren at Pensacola, Florida.  Hopes to sail to either the Pacific or Mediterrean as he likes to visit far away countries.  Writes about a death, travels, probably heading to Mobile next.   Both sent to his father Thomas Lawyer, the postmaster of Lawyersville in Schoharie County, New York.
