Original 1849 stampless folded letter from the Peterboro & Shirley Railroad Company mailed from Charlestown Massachusetts to an investor at Boston on July 2,1849. The railroad connected parts of Southern New Hampshire into Massachusetts and eventually to Fitchburg.
A letter for investment and a handwritten financial report as well. Not sure of the drawing but maybe a track layout?
Good Charlstown cancel and Paid stamp for 3 cents.
In very good condition and laid flat for display. Shipped flat in a sturdy clear holder.
A nice addition to any collection.
