1910's Illust'd Men's Fashion Brochure -- Solon, ME Local Use (NY, NY Precancel)

Description

Circa 1910's advertising mailer from L.L. Patterson, a purveyor of men's fashions in Solon, ME, to a potential client in Solon, ME.  This local use brochure has two inserts showing a number of color illustrations of the International Clothes brand suits and topcoats the seller offered, along with descriptions of the products and materials.
It has no postmark but is franked with one 1c precanceled stamp (marked New York, NY), which reflects the third-class bulk rate.  The stamp was applied at the right edge to seal the mailer.  It appears that the brochures were produced by the New York manufacturer, customized for the local seller, and then addressed and mailed by the local seller.  I suspect that is why the stamp has a New York, NY precancel, which would be consistent with the brochures arriving in bulk with the postage already in place.  The three-panel brochure is in
excellent, clean condition.
It is a Very Fine piece ready to enhance any collection of U.S. postal history or commercial advertising.
