    Description

    1938 Jefferson Nickel Pattern Strike☆(Silver)☆
This is a very unique coin/medal minted in a limited number in 2002 from the original plasters submitted by artist and engraver Frans Karel Hejda for the 1938 competition for a new U.S. nickel design.
The original plasters were auctioned by Stacks in 1994, obtained by Coincraft of London and reduced to a coin die with a limit of 1,938 struck in sterling silver. Popular with Jefferson nickel collectors the piece has become very scarce.
