Letter is dated June 9, 1945 and begins, "Dear Sonny (can't make out the 2nd name), Received your letter today and was as glad to hear from you.  I guess you all did enjoy your visit with J.D. for what time he was there.  Wish I had of been there ?? instead of over here in this hot hole.  I guess Sonny is kept pretty busy running up and down the road taking care of all the fellow cases.  Maybe when the war is over I'll get to stay at home more."
He goes on to say that he is not happy running around all the time.  "I think I'll take a switch engine and stay in the yards all the time.  Well I've finally got in a railroad car over here and its a good on to our division is 175 miles long...."  He goes on writing about the railway and finishes the letter with, "Well I guess I'll close for this time will write more next time.  Thanks for J.D.'s address.  Hal"
