McAnally, Regiment 1, Headquarters Company, A.P.O. 410, c/o Postmaster, New York, New York --- A.P.O. 410 indicates that at this time the writer is located in France --- Passed By US 47766 Army Examiner rectangular censor's stamp with P. E. Mc... partially indistinct signature at upper left
Letter is dated, France, January 27, 1945, and begins, Dear Mom --- the writer says, "Just a short picture letter to let you know I[']m well. I'm feeling just grand, and having a lot of fun. There[']s nothing to worry about." -- he reassures, "We've got a pretty good set up here, and as long as the Germans stay on their side I'm happy, and there[']s not much chance of them coming back this way, so I guess I'll stay happy."
He requests, "The next time you write Robert, Ben, and Dan, give them my address, and tell them to write. I haven[']t heard from Robert or Ben since I've been over here." --- he elaborates, "I've gotten several letters form Dan. He's doing fine, and still having fun in England. It looks like all of us boys will be home soon, the way the Russians are moving along." --- he rewrites his address clearly in a block at lower right
He inquires, "How is every one and every body? Tell all hello, and tell everyone to write." --- signed, All my love, Arch --- white spots and scratches as well as isolated doubling or blurring appear to be printing errors;  DARK STRIP ACROSS BOTTOM OR SIDES IS THE PLASTIC HOLDER IN THE SCAN
