This is the new Eagle Landing design Uncirculated Silver Eagle coin.  In numismatics it is commonly called the Burnished or special finish Silver Eagle.  This is the first year the New Eagle Landing reverse design has been used on the uncirculated coin.  The design includes a truer representation of Adolph A. Weinman's Liberty in full stride, the artists mark on the obverse, and
    an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation.
This coin comes in the original government packaging (OGP) and includes the box and certificate of authenticity.  The mintage by the US Mint is limited at 175,000.  The coins were minted at the West Point Mint facility and include the W mark on the reverse.
The Burnished Silver Eagle was first introduced in 2006 for the 20th Anniversary and has been made every year since except 2009 and 2010.  The planchet is rolled in a drum filled with countless tiny balls and hand-fed into a specially adapted coining press one at a time.  Where the coin is struck only once.
