ALNICO COMPRESSION HORN DRIVER PAIR PMR COMPLETELY REBUILT

Up for grabs is this PAIR of ALNICO MAGNET wide range/midrange compression drivers..
I hope someone out there knows who made these, because I have no idea..... and I've seen a lot.
Anyhow, they  are a METAL chassis pair, no plastic anywhere in the bodies, so I thought they would make good units to completely overhaul...  so I did.
They were dismantled, stripped, cleaned, and then I coated them with that antique 2 color "Hammer-Tie" finish, and baked the coating on with an oven..  They look like they came from the 50s or 60s now...they might be older than that for all I know..
The magnetic gaps were verified with a gauss/flux probe, and measured just fine, so they were PURPOSELY not de-magnetized/re-magnetized. They run on their original charges. Some people say these things sweeten with age, and after playing them, I have to agree..
I also re-used the original diaphragms , as they looked good.....no burn marks, failing adhesives, or oxidation anywhere... The diameter of the VC is around 1.5"
One noticeable feature of the diaphragm, is how deep it is, sort of like an old EV diaphragm.It has a deep dome profile..
BUT- the COOOL thing about these , is how low they could play. I ran them on a signal generator, and they were able to handle lower frequency material well..  Like 260 hz low... They sounded clean way up to 5Khz and above. Impedance is 8 ohms, and I'd say keep it under 30 watts, although they might handle more..
So, if you need a driver to handle the CRITICAL 300-3KHz range , like Western Electric phone bandwidth, or the human voice in a multi way system, these are great choices because of their low end , and ability to cover that decade of bandwidth in a single driver
((PS- I do have an alnico driver new, that will handle 100hz!).. Just ask..
