    Description

Offered for your consideration is one (1)
    Infinity
    6½ inch CMMD cone woofer
that was original equipment in their ENTRA ONE speakers, manufactured c.2000. This heavy-magnet Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm woofer may have also been used in other period Infinity models, but buyer is responsible for making that assessment based on their needs.
So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable mid/bass driver is correct for your speaker.
This Infinity woofer is in clean, excellent overall condition. It has a flawless CMMD cone and perfect voice coil dustcap. Plus, the surround is made from
    permanent
rubber instead of the fragile foam still widely in use when it was made. Also, the black enameled steel basket is in great shape and so is the double-stacked “shielded” magnet structure. And, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity (larger one is positive) and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this woofer is very nicely preserved.
Most importantly, it’s been fully tested in the factory cabinet and sounds terrific—fast, detailed lower midrange and solid 60Hz-rated low-end. And, it supports 125 watts input power as crossed-over in the ENTRA ONE so it’s a very sturdy driver. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 5.1Ω, consistent with a nominal 6 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 6 9/16” diameter, it stands 3⅞” tall, and the six mount holes are spaced 3⅛” apart, c-t-c.
What’s more, installing the woofer is very simple. Remove the rubber grille-retention grommets from the speaker’s faceplate to access the Phillips-head retention screws. Pull the baffle up gently and remove the +/- wires from the old woofer and then undo the screws holding the woofer to the faceplate underside. Replace the woofer and reattach the faceplate and replace grommets. Done!
This is a great find if you have a blown or damaged woofer in your ENTRA ONE or other suitable Infinity speaker and will have it sounding its best again in no time! Plus, it’s a smart spare to have on hand since production ended years ago.
As pictured and described, this Infinity 6½” CMMD cone woofer is offered at a competitive price.
