Very nice express cover comes with old auction write up and bid estimate of 0 to 350:
Greenhood & Newbauer Northern Express, Paid frank, printed express company frank (Haller FG6. type la) imitative of Wells. Fargo. with correct "Newbauer" spelling on 3c (U10) on buff entire cancelled by blue oval, also bearing blue Wells Fargo & Company Aug 13 oval. to San Francisco. This is a great example of the Greenhood & Newbauer Northern Express company connection with Wells. Fargo & Co at Marysville on the rarer correctly spelled "Newbauer" stationery. Interestingly the known error in the frank spelled "Newbaner" (see our next lot) is more common than the scarcer correct spelling of Newbauer.
The Greenhood & Newbauer Northern Express company was founded in 1856 by Herman Greenhood and Joseph Neubauer in Weaverville. In 1858. they purchased the W F. Rowe Express company which connected with Wells Fargo at Marysville (1856 - Aug 1867). The company experienced financial difficulties in August 1867 and their routes were assumed by G. I. Taggarts.

I now carry private insurance on all

over 0 in the USA. Cost of shipping is .85 for the entire shipment and includes Certified Mail and insurance from Lloyds of London. If your shipment comes to over 0 and your shipping comes to less then - please add the difference for insured Certified Mail shipping.
If your item is under 0 or you want to combine shipping you can email for an invoice and we'll change the shipping amount. Please use the eBay link as it makes it easier to do.
Shipments outside the USA will be charged standard fees shown plus any registered or other fees the buyer wants. Registered mail to most countries is .
Policy on certificates
Notice for that lots are being submitted for a certificate
must
be made and a copy of the request for certification must be mailed or emailed within 7 days. If the stamp is found to be bad I will refund both the cost of the stamp and the certificate. However, to avoid ridiculous situations, no items under final bid price may be put on extension.
No refunds
will be made after 120 days unless a further extension is requested before the end of the 120 days. We accept APS, Foundation, PSE and Weiss certificates. No graded certificates accepted and encased stamps may not be returned under any circumstances. A certificate of no opinion is not grounds for returning a stamp.
