    Description

Offered for your consideration is a vintage
    Becker
Alnico magnet 2 inch cone tweeter
    , removed from my
    KLH
Model THIRTY-EIGHT speakers, USA-made in 1973.   This tweeter was also used in the Model THIRTY-TWO and possibly other KLH speakers from this period.
As you may know, Becker was a notable OE supplier to the domestic speaker industry.  Based on the EIA source/date coding on the sizeable magnet cover, “24 7333”, this high frequency driver was made for KLH by Becker (24) in the 33rd week of 1973.
So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this superb KLH high frequency driver should be yours.

Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, two identical KLH cone tweeters are available at the time of this writing (the one not pictured was manufactured the following week).  Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing.  The shipping cost will be automatically calculated by eBay checkout

This KLH tweeter is in clean, excellent condition.  It has a flawless paper cone and perfect voice coil dustcap.  Also, the black-enameled steel basket is in great shape with only some light surface oxidation noted on the flange edge.  Lastly, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, are marked for polarity, and have never been soldered on the spades.  It’s a very well-preserved vintage high frequency driver.
I’ve tested this tweeter and it sounds very strong and clear with a detailed upper midrange, crisp highs, and the special warmth of tone that has kept Alnico magnet drivers in such high demand. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.7-6.8Ω, consistent with an 8 ohm nominal driver rating.  Lastly, the mount flange measures 3” in diameter, the cone is 2”, it stands about 1⅞” tall, and the mount holes are spaced 2” adjacent / 2¾” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
This is a nice find if you have a blown or damaged 2” tweeter in your KLH 32, 38, or other suitable speaker from the era—it will be sounding its finest again in no time!
As pictured and described, this KLH Alnico magnet cone tweeter made by Becker is offered at a competitive price.
